According to reports, Super Eagles of Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr is set to be laid off after 5-years as the NFF is in a meeting to conclude its decision. According to Vanguard, the ongoing meeting is to allow the NFF to contact Rohr’s replacement and tidy upon his compensation.
This comes after Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Cape Verde which secured the Eagles qualify for the play-off. The match angered many fans and stakeholders before NFF decided to address his position.
Gernot Rohr (born 28 June 1953) is a German professional football manager and former player. He most recently managed the Nigerian national team. He was given a target of guiding the team to win the 2021 Africa Nation’s Cup to be hosted by Cameroon. The new contract also includes qualifying the Super Eagles to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
