Hon. Ned Nwoko, a former member of the House of Representatives, is on the verge of becoming the Senator to represent the Delta North Senatorial District in 2023 after being elected as the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate.
The philanthropist and anti-malaria activist defeated his opponent, Paul Osaji, with 242 to 67 votes in today’s primary election.
As a result of the large margin, Ned Nwoko is the clear favorite to represent Delta North in the Senate.
Women and youth organizations from the area have erupted in celebration since Hon. Nwoko’s victory was declared.
He is to slug it out at the general election with the candidate of the APC and other political parties at the general election next year.
Ned Nwoko is believed to be popular among his people, stemming from the massive humanitarian campaign he has embarked upon, not only in Delta North but the state and country at large.
He has improved their standard of living through job opportunities, youth empowerment, improved health care, and access to education.
Recall that not long ago, his university, Sports University in Delta, recently secured an operational license from the National Universities Commission in readiness for commencement of admission.
With a large platform in the offing, he is expected to use his senatorial seat to broaden the horizons of his humanitarian campaign and affect the lives of his people even better.
He enjoys wide acceptance among his constituents.
