The Lagos State government has appointed Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as the chairman of the Parks Management Committee.
Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, announced MC Oluomo’s appointment in a statement.
The statement was titled, “Lagos Government sets up Parks Management Committee.”
According to the state government, the appointment of MC Oluomo was made to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) did not undermine law and order in the state.
He stated that the government owed all citizens and visitors the task of maintaining peace in the state.
In addition, Hakeem Odumosu, a former Assistant Inspector-General of Police, has been selected as the Liaison Officer between the government and the committee.
Dr. Taiwo Salaam, an ex-Permanent Secretary, was also named as the committee’s secretary, with Sulyman Ojora as the Deputy Chairman.
This comes after the state government suspended the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTWoperations )’s in the state and took control of all parks and garages to prevent a collapse in law and order following a leadership dispute.
Mr Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, said in a statement on Thursday that the committee was established to guarantee that developments in the NURTW did not undermine law and order in the state.
