Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian singer, has accused Nigerians of not extending the same support their artists receive in Ghana.
In a series of tweets posted on his page on Monday, December 27, after he held a concert in Ghana, Shatta Wale said Nigerian artists have been forced to use Ghana as their gateway to fame while abandoning Nigeria once they achieve international recognition.
He tweeted those tweets in response to his attack against Nigerian artists at the Freedom Wave concert which took place at Accra Sports Stadium, where he said he only listens to Ghanaian artists and does not listen to Nigerian music.
According to him, Ghanaian artists have tried to promote their songs in Nigeria without success, while Nigerians come to Ghana and are given a platform.
Nigerian and Ghanaian musicians have collaborated on music for many years. Omah Lay and Gyakie collaborated on the remix of Forever in 2021 alone. Black Sherif featured Burna Boy on the remix of the song Second Sermon.
